Artists
MPAACT artists comprise a multi-generational collective of talented members ranging in age from mid 20s to late 50s. Unlike many Chicago area theatre companies, MPAACT is not an acting ensemble. From its inception, MPAACT has included writers, directors, technicians, designers, musicians and actors.
It is important to the collective that MPAACT pull from the disparate cultural elements which unite artists in the Afrikan Diaspora. Drawing from the well that nourished artists such as Wole Soyinka, Charles Mingus, Adrienne Kennedy, Amiri Baraka and Bob Marley, MPAACT creates and performs work, that examines and celebrates many facets of Afrikan theatre.
